From a family of cabinetmakers, Pierre Roux grew up in a creative setting. He is a leatherworker, specializing in leather goods, sheath-making, and marquetry. A photographer by training, he began his career in the museums of the City of Paris. This experience refined his artistic sense and sparked his passion for craftsmanship. Following a CAP in ceramics in 2013 and a training period in Mexico, he established a workshop-boutique in Strasbourg. Health issues prompted him to change careers, leading him to train in leatherworking with Christian Débat at Atelier Delaforêt from 2018 to 2019.
Pierre founded Atelier Reverdie in 2019, an artisan leather workshop and design studio. He crafts leather objects and furniture, combining them with materials like brass, wood, and fabric, and employing exceptional craftsmanship such as leather marquetry and artistic sheathing. His clientele includes professionals from the luxury, design, fashion, luxury hotel, and gastronomy fields.

Pierre distinguishes himself through an innovative approach, blending expertise and materials. By collaborating with artisans like cabinetmakers, he crafts unique pieces combining wood and leather. His eco-responsible commitment leads him to explore sustainable materials, such as fish leather.
Pierre is dedicated to waste reduction by managing his own leather scraps, which are sorted and repurposed for loyal customers, business gifts, or small-series projects. The workshop further offers bespoke solutions to professionals for recycling and upcycling their surplus of soft materials, including leathers and textiles.
Pierre is actively engaged in passing down his know-how in Alsace. Since 2021, he has been training three apprentices with the Compagnons du Devoir and the Lycée Les Huisselets in Montbéliard. He also takes part in the international Homo Faber NextGen program, hosting and teaching a young Colombian leather craftswoman.
Pierre Roux wishes to acquire a paring machine to improve the precision of finishes, reduce repetitive movements and leather waste, and optimize working conditions. This investment will meet luxury requirements and facilitate apprentice training. Pierre is requesting the Foundation‘s support for this procurement.
