Delphine Nény – Decorative painter

Pays de la Loire –  1967

Delphine Nény is a decorative painter. Passionate about art from an early age, she has studied at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Art de Cergy Pontoise, then at the Atelier de Peinture en Décors, a craft training. She began her career at Trouvé with Pierre Lefumat, who passed on his passion, expertise, and technique. He also took her to prestigious sites such as Hôtel Costes, Le Meurice and Château de Sceaux.

In 2012, she set up her own workshop specialized in reverse painting on glass and the creation of wall decorations and trompe l’oeil on all types of supports. Decorators call on her expertise for creation, restitution, and restoration projects, both in France and abroad.

Research and innovation

Delphine Nény creates decorative paintings using a combination of reverse painting and églomisé techniques. She creates unique pieces in successive layers with pigments and gold leaf, on modern or antique glass. “Painting in reverse means imagining the final result and preparing the colour palette in advance”.

Transmission

Delphine Nény was a teacher at the Ecole d’Art Mural de Versailles from 2012 to 2013, and a teacher of decorative painting techniques in Rouen until 2019. Every year, she welcomes trainees to her studio and takes them to her worksites.

Fondation Rémy Cointreau has helped Delphine Nény in 2023 to develop her workshop. The craftswoman was able to acquire a solid table adapted to the production of her large formats, and a printer to produce her presentation books.
