The 2020 laureates of the Grands Prix de la Création of Paris are…

Since their creation in 1993, the Grands Prix de la Création recognize every year exceptional creators in the fields of fine crafts, design and fashion.

The Fondation Rémy Cointreau supports the Fine Crafts category of the Grands Prix awarding each year an emerging talent and a confirmed professional talent.

For the 3rd consecutive year, Caroline Martin-Rilhac, General Delegate of the Fondation Rémy Cointreau, was a member of the jury and of the Expert Committee for the category, under the Chair of Mathias Kiss.

Due to COVID regulations, the laureates were announced and celebrated during an entirely digital event. Without further ado, let’s unveil their names and savoir-faire.

FOR THE FINE ARTS CATEGORY

The Grand Prix 2020 is attributed to Nicolas Pinon!

Nicolas Pinon is a lacquerer, specialized in plant-based lacquer and settled in the11e arrondissement of Paris. He has a very strong attachment to Japan, home country to the craft he is so passionate about and where he was able to learn from a master lacquerer, keeper of an ancestral savoir-faire. Nicolas focuses on every facet of vegetal varnish, of kintsugi and brings a contemporary and european twist to these eastern and ancestral practices.

The Prix Talent Emergent goes to Laura Cambon!

Laura Cambon has a unique outlook on glass, so is her craft. Trained at the Arts Déco, she creates glass pieces for the exclusive purpose of  interior design and space layout by combining traditional savoir-faire and technical innovation. She also leads research and experimentation on her raw material.

Congratulations to them both!
