The opening of the Maison Talents & Violon’celles

In Paris, the 8th arrondissement is known as the historical music area since more than one century. This is at the 62 rue de Rome that the Maison Talents & Violon’celles is opening its doors.

The Maison Talents & Violon’celles is a meeting place around the instruments of the quartet for professionals, sponsors, partners of the association, professors and young talents. Conceived as a coworking space, it contains a welcome area, an instrument and bow makers space, a multifunctional room and the headquarters of the association. For the first time, instrument makers, bow makers, musicians of any ages have a house that gather them and allows them to meet people who support them.

The Fondation Rémy Cointreau wants to anchor in a true proximity with the exceptional craftsman that it supports, with a pragmatic and concrete help. The Fondation and the Association have many values in common: defence of the french instrument making school heritage, the valorisation and the safeguard of arts and crafts, the transmission of a unique savoir-faire.

For Dominique Hériard Dubreuil, President of the Fondation Rémy Cointreau, “our values are linked to the need of the transmission of savoir-faire for that basic commitment, often matched with passion and all the discipline that it represents”.

That is why the Fondation chooses to support the realisation of the instruments and bow-making workshop, to welcome young musicians in residence during a few months around a promising project. It participates also, through Caroline Martin-Rilhac its General Delegate, to the commission that selects the craftsmen projects.

Talents & Violon’celles celebrated its 10th birthday last year. Today, the association loans about sixty instruments of a string quartet and develops projects in harmony with the instrument loans. The creation of this Maison Talents & Violon’celles is the testimony of a long history ahead.
