The Grand Prix de la Création de la Ville de Paris are organised each year in order to highlight professionnals specialised in arts. There are four categories: design, fashion, fine craft, and fashion accessories. In each category except for accessories, there are two awards: Le Grand Prix and Prix Talent emergent.

Le Grand Prix rewards a professional for the development of his workshop and its engagement for transmission and innovation. Le Prix Talent emergent rewards a young professional for the ambition of his project. Finally, Le Prix Accessoire de mode, born in 2022, rewards a project of accessories creation.

The Grands Prix, fine craft category

There are two laureates in fine craft category. Atelier Alba received Le Prix Talent émergent. This workshop is composed of two professionals, Célia Suzanne and Erwann Larbre. They work straw marquetry with innovation. “We are both passioned by materials and straw marquetry, a rare know-how. This savoir-faire is a way to work with multiple materials: wood, metal, leather, horn, etc.”, says Célia. Their trademark is horsehair!

Le Grand Prix is dedicated to Caroline Besse, artist and decorator. Her approach of decoration is based on the use of colours she realises by herself with natural pigments. Her sensibility to materials and colours and her Asian inspirations influence her style.

Fondation Rémy Cointreau has been in partnership with Bureau du Design, de la Mode et des Métiers d’Art since 2019. Caroline Martin-Rilhac, delegate general of the foundation, was part of the jury of fine craft category, and the cabinetmaker Ludovic Avenel has presided over this category.
